Tree ferns

These ferns are characterized by the development of a trunk over the years. They will take on a tree-like/palm-like appearance.

About tree ferns

Tree ferns belong to an ancient group of plants that have existed on Earth for millions of years. They are characterized by their large leaves and trunk that give a tropical and exotic look to gardens and interiors.

Characteristics of tree ferns

Appearance

Tree ferns often have an upright trunk and large, pinnate leaves that grow at the top. These leaves can vary in size depending on the species.

Light requirement

Tree ferns thrive in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn their leaves, especially on young specimens. So place them in a place where they do get light, but are not directly exposed to the bright sun.

Temperature and humidity

Tree ferns are tropical plants and thrive in warm temperatures and high humidity. Provide sufficient humidity, for example by spraying regularly or using a humidifier.

Watering

Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid letting the plant sit in water. Water at the base of the plant.
