Davallia pentaphylla is an elegant tropical fern with striking, hand-shaped fronds. Young leaves or unfurling frond tips often have a copper to orangish-brown hue. This coloration is temporary and gradually changes to fresh green as the fronds fully develop – a beautiful detail that adds a lively touch to the plant.
This species grows compactly and slowly, but under the right conditions it can spread out more broadly. Generally, it remains a medium-sized houseplant, perfect for fern enthusiasts looking for something unique.
