Blechnum discolor is a remarkable fern from New Zealand, known for its decorative foliage and compact growth habit. This unique fern is a beautiful addition to a collection of exotic and rare ferns and is well suited to a shady garden, a sheltered outdoor space, or growing in a pot.

The fern forms a rosette of elegant, dark green fronds that spread out gracefully. With its distinctive appearance, Blechnum discolor is an interesting choice for enthusiasts of unusual garden plants and botanical collections.

Care for Blechnum discolor
Blechnum discolor prefers a position in partial shade to shade, in humus-rich, well-draining soil that remains evenly moist. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely, while also ensuring that excess water can drain away freely. Ideally, choose a sheltered location to protect the fern from drying winds and severe frost.

Are you looking for a distinctive fern for your garden or a collection of exotic plants? With Blechnum discolor, you can add a characterful and decorative fern to your collection that is particularly well suited to a cool, sheltered location.
