The Asplenium trichomanes 'Stuart Williams' is a unique variety of the well-known maidenhair spleenwort, but with a striking twist. While the regular Asplenium trichomanes has small, rounded leaflets, this cultivar immediately stands out with its fan-shaped foliage. This gives the plant a more playful and fuller appearance, almost as if each leaflet unfolds like a miniature fan.


The dark, almost black stems create a beautiful contrast with the fresh green leaves, making this fern eye-catching even in smaller spaces. Perfect for rock gardens, wall planting, or as a special addition to a fern collection.


‘Stuart Williams’ grows compactly and thrives best in a sheltered spot with partial to full shade. Like the species, it is strong and fully hardy, but its distinctive leaf shape makes it just that little bit more exclusive.
