Asplenium antiquum (Nest fern) is a nest fern and part of the stripe fern family. Nest ferns are characterized by the new leaf rolling out from the center, forming a kind of nest.
This fern has large apple green leaves with a ruffled edge. In nature it occurs in tropical areas with high humidity. In addition, the Asplenium has air-purifying properties.
It is best to place this plant in partial shade without direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight will burn the leaves and change color.
Watering is best done from below, by pouring a layer of water into the pot or into the sink. The plant can then absorb the water itself. Try to avoid watering the heart, it can rot.
Because this fern likes high humidity, it is also an ideal plant for the bathroom.
Ferns are not poisonous to children or animals.
